Kitchen Renovation

Project

The kitchen in our client's home presented several challenges, including an old fireplace that was no longer in use and structural issues stemming from damage incurred during wartime. Our task was to repurpose the fireplace to accommodate a modern American fridge while also addressing the uneven walls, ceiling, and floor caused by historical damage. Furthermore, insulating the external wall was necessary to improve energy efficiency and comfort within the kitchen space.

Solution

To tackle these challenges, we implemented a comprehensive solution: Structural Repairs: We carefully leveled the walls, ceiling, and floor to rectify the war-related damage, ensuring a stable and uniform foundation for the renovation. Fireplace Conversion: Repurposing the old fireplace involved squaring off and reinforcing the opening to accommodate the dimensions of the American fridge. This required precision and attention to detail to seamlessly integrate the new feature into the kitchen layout. Insulation Installation: We installed high-quality insulation in the external wall to enhance thermal efficiency and reduce heat loss, creating a more comfortable and energy-efficient environment.

Result

The completed renovation stands as a testament to our craftsmanship: Functional Enhancement: The added opening provides convenient storage while preserving the historical charm of the home. Structural Integrity: Leveling the walls, ceiling, and floor ensures a stable foundation for future renovations. Energy Efficiency: Insulating the external wall improves energy efficiency without detracting from the home's historical appeal.
